Marta Lemanska was born in a family of musicians.
She started taking violin lessons at the age of 5 and continued her musical education in Poland, graduating from the prestigious Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw. Then she completed her post-graduate course at the Maastricht Conservatorium of Music where she graduated in the class of prof. R. Szreder with special honors (Cum Laude), also taking regular lessons and masterclasses with Liviu Prunaru, Herman Krebbers, Ida Haendel, Yair Kless, Roman Totenberg.
Marta won the first prize at the Polish Music Competition in 1995 and also won many scholarships and prices from cultural foundations (like the Rottary Club Poland, etc) and from private sponsors. Since she was a child, she was strongly encouraged by her father, a professional jazz guitarist, to learn improvisation. Using those skills, she performed as a soloist a special piece composed for violin and symphony orchestra at the "Improvisation Music Festival in Maastricht" (2004).
At the moment, Marta is a member of the Sinfonia Rotterdam but also finds time to play with other Dutch and German symphonic orchestras, perform as a chamber musician and give recitals all around the world.
Since 2022, Marta is the Concertmaster and violin coach of the Musicando Academy.
